Celebrity Prep Schools

Prep schools are breeding grounds for power and wealth. Research suggests rich kids meet rich kids in prep school and together in life they become richer and more powerful adults by recalling and falling back on their prep school connections. Prep schools attract more loyalty and deeper friendships than private college or university life. One of my GO INSIDE Magazine Senior Managing Editors and friends, Gordon Davidescu, attended The Peddie School and I have been asking him questions about his experience at Peddie and, even though he doesn’t understand why I care, Gordon has been kind enough to play along by answering.

Here is a snippet of our Peddie conversation:

ME: Why did you attend Peddie?

GORDON: My parents found the school.

ME: Did you create powerful lifelong friendships as a Peddie student?

GORDON: As with just about any major private school, having gone there has made certain connections for me which, as much as I haven’t kept in touch with people, are certainly still there but if I reach out to them.

ME: Would you attend Peddie again if you had to repeat the experience?

GORDON: I’m not sure how I could respond about going again. At the time I went to the school I was not religiously observant [Gordon is now Frum]. The school has classes on Saturdays – I wonder if it would be possible to attend classes as an observant Jew. Not being able to write anything down, not carrying anything with one… hmm. If it would be possible to be religiously Jewish and still go then yes, I’d definitely go again.

ME: After attending Peddie, do you feel connected to the corners of political and economic power?

GORDON: I honestly feel dumb reading that and then thinking, Huh? What does he mean?

I pointed Gordon to this website: Celebrity Prep Schools as explanation.

    Peddie School New Admission Criteria

Based on a student who graduated from the Peddie School, there appears to be new admission criteria that do not require you to have good grades or test scores. Below are the criteria for getting admitted:

    • Parents that are criminals (Its is better if at least one went to jail)
    • Parents that give money to the school
    • Average or below average grades
    • Average or below average test scores

Once you are admitted, you will not do well because you are not qualified to be there. Therefore you will need to do something in order not to be thrown out of the school. It appears that you will not be thrown out if you threaten another student by holding a sharp object up to his/her neck.

So don’t waste your time studying hard if you want to go to the Peddie School. Just apply under the above admission criteria. Since it worked for one student, it could work for you.

    Good luck.
