If you are reading this then WordPress is correctly "auto-publishing" this post without me as I am currently sailing high above you in the air on my way to Sacramento, California to meet with the delightful Jeff Tanji, M.D. and his fine Sports Medicine staff.
If you are not reading this, then I am still in the air but the post did not make it out of WordPress.

Have a great trip to Sacramento!
The auto-publish feature is a great thing. We can still get our daily "fix" of urbansemiotic and not worry about going into "withdrawal." ;)
Through the wonder of the internet I know that your flight is ahead of schedule by about 13 minutes, I will be headed for the airport in less than an hour to pick you and Janna up.
Beautiful photo. Did you take it?
Wow! A flight AHEAD of schedule....
Well, a little surreal because David, Janna and I are all at my office at UC Davis Sports Medicine, at the nurses station with three computer systems online.
David and Janna are as wonderful in person as I had expected and I look forward to the coming days on collaborating on a number of pretty exciting projects.
Tonight, we head in a few hours to Arco Arena to watch the Sacramento Kings play against the Denver Nuggets basketball team. Both teams struggle tonight to live up to expectations.
Chris! -- Thanks for the fine post and wonderful good wishes! This "future publishing" of "scheduled entries" is fantastic! I can be here even when I am not here! Thanks for responding to let me know this whole thing is working.
Jeff! -- I do love how Continental will let you interactively track flights. Now if I only had web access from the plane that would really be time and space shattering as you tracked me across the sky as while I typed live messages – it would be all so Space Shuttle-ish!
suzanne! -- No, I didn't take the photo. I like it a lot, though.
Carla! -- The weather was great everywhere and the pilots on both legs of the flight said the headwinds were barely there and we arrived 20 minutes early in both Houston and Sacramento. Yay!
Jeff! -- I just got off the phone with you and now I'm answering a comment you posted while I was there standing with you in your fine and beautiful Sports Medicine program. It's mind-altering! I look forward to seeing the in-person you in 30 minutes for a live Kings game! Maybe we can blog a message from there! Harr!
Have a wonderful time!
I've never been able to get that stupid plugin to work on my blog so I gave up trying :/
How cool. A little late since I spent most of friday with a hangover and then in therapy  I hope your trip goes wonderfully!
Hi hterry! – Thanks for the great note and I'm with you on these wacky plugins. When they work, they work great. When they sorta work you're really messed up! Akistmet, so far, has worked really well for me. There’s a newer version if you decide you want to try it again sometime…
Hey Robin! -- Good luck on the hangover. Those can really rock you. I hope your therapy session goes well! Things here are going really well. Sacramento was fogged in this morning and an hour later it had all burned off – that was amazing to watch. The Kings won big last night over the Nuggets so lots of positive things are popping along all over the place!
I'm glad :D It's time now to go to the laundramat....I lead such an exciting life.
I hope your Laundromat has WiFi -- take your laptop with you!
Yeah I seriously doubt it does since my cell phone doesn't even come in there. I have to abandon my pretty laptop and actually ((gasp)) read!!!
Ha! I read somewhere the new hot-date meeting place in the Midwest is now the Laundromat! You dance and drink and do the web and IM each other all while your whites mix with someone else's colors!
Oh my!
Yeah definitely not around here that is for sure but maybe in Boston. It's a good thing I'm not single where I am cause I'd be sh*t out of luck.
Yeah, it's funny here at our hotel there is free WiFi in the lobby -- but they charge you $10 a day for internet through a wire in your room. Strange stuff, this technology.
