Contextual Related Posts Added

I just added the Contextual Related Posts Plugin to your favorite Urban Semiotic blog. Now when you click on a post title you can see a list of other related posts from the past down near the comments box. Fantoostic! This gives new life to forgotten thoughts and brings them up out of history to reshape the present.

Uh-Oh! The 1.1 version of this Plugin will find unpublished pending posts in your WRITE queue and display them. That's not good. Uninstalled the Plugin.

Don't you hate it when a pretty new plugin just doesn't quite cut it?

Yeah! It was so super, too! I tested it about 10 times and nothing unpublished came up and then I decided to dig deeper because what the Plugin was finding was really cool -- and then I had a moment as I sat there looking at the list of related articles and I said to myself "that isn't supposed to be showing." The clue was the non-permalinked structure of the URL -- then I knew something was askew!

Ack!

Mark, the author of the Plugin, just posted a note that he fixed it.

I'll go download it and try it again.

Cool I can't wait to check it out.

Mark fixed it!

Hazzah!

We're back into The Realm of the Fantoostic!

Look at the bizarre -- and by "bizzare" I mean "fantoostic" -- "Related Posts" it found for this post about Contextual Related Posts! Wild, mon!

Oh, and Robin installed this Plugin over on her blog five minutes after I gave the re-thumbs up.

I just have nothing else better to do than copy you

Well, we do admire you for confessing to doing two things well -- copying me and making "pointless" links on your blog. Keep up the groundbreaking work, Robin!

Keep this up and I won't EVER COME BACK TO YOUR BLOG EITHER :P

Okay then!

I'll be quiet now.

Maybe you just always secretly wanted a younger sister to pick on :D

You might be right about that, heh!

I sent this to Plugin Guru Mark today:

It looks like the first return of the five is always the title of the article you’re reading. Does that seem like a wasted return to you? Is it possible for your Plugin to ignore the title of the originating post so it is never returned in its own Context?

Mark agreed and fixed it and you can now download the new version of his Plugin!
