He still doesn't get it. He's no Churchill.

Here's the only Churchill quote I could find on "suffering criticism" and is much less self-serving than the Rumsfeld version:

As an english person I find that quite insulting - also rather ironic too after the fuss Mr Bush was making about being misquoted at his press conference.

He may have quoted him precisely but I couldn't find the exact reference.

It is fascinating Rumsfeld chooses to identify with Churchill on the day he's shown the door. It seems to prove how out of touch with the harsh reality of the world he is and that's deadly dangerous for many people when you direct the guns and you set the bombing plans.

Thanks for the comment! I think things will start to cool down in Iraq now. We'll get a plan to get out and, I hope, we leave the nation in a state that is not one of an ongoing civil war where a new Saddam will rise to power.

The hypocrisy of the ultra-conservative mouthpieces is amazing, Dave. They stand for nothing. They play to the lowest and most vicious and most divisive common denominator.

Democrats just don't have it in them to play that nasty game as the demise of Air American testifies.
