January 2008 Archives

Gordon Davidescu wrote this article.

It all started a few nights ago. It was sometime early in the morning, far earlier than I would ever consider waking up. I was in the middle of what seemed to be quite a bizarre dream. I was with my father at his house and we were listening to the music of Adriano Celentano - with good reason, I think.

I am a big fan of American Idol, but I cannot get over the fact that so few of the contestants that make it to Hollywood can carry a tune and how so many contestants -- and fans! -- are tone deaf.

In Gut We Trust

Do you have a good gut? Do you trust what your gut tells you?

Why does the number three have such power in cultures across the world?

"Physician, heal thyself," is an old proverb that resonates today as we seek context and meaning in healing as newer, more vicious, illnesses invade our bodies.

Is it an evolutionary necessity that all babies are born selfish and power-seeking?

Heath Ledger is dead at 28.  If he were not famous -- would he deserve the celebrity mega-media coverage being blanketed upon us in the wake of his wake?

As we contemplate our lives on land while breathing the air, I am curious to know the why of your want in death.

Barack Obama bit back against the Clintons last night in the South Carolina debate and both Hillary and Bill couldn't be happier that the young senator was so inexperienced as to attack their attack machine without enough purpose or forethought.

When most people think of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s famous "I Have a Dream" speech, they hearken back to the steps of the Lincoln Memorial on August 28, 1963 where 200,000 people watched and listened.

The Real Last Nazi

Gerhard Lauck is the real last Nazi and one of the first professional propagators of monetizing hate on the internet.

Ron Paul wants to be a republican president. Is he a misunderstood genius? Or is he simply a madman feigning lucidity?

Do you dream in color?  Are you lucid in your dreams?  Are you able to actively dream while awake?

Explain the altar of Oprah Winfrey to me.

I suppose it had to happen sooner than later.

The Lesson of the First Number

The Lesson of the Singing Bowl is one of my favorite articles.  Today, I will share with you another story taught to me by my Indian yoga guru -- The Lesson of the First Number -- where I learned about intent, self-determination, and divination.

I added some detail to make the story my own so I could share it with you here.

If you change the label of a concept, is the context forming the underlying concept changed as well -- or is the concept always the same no matter the name?

Hillary Rodham Clinton won New Hampshire last night and she did it by crying -- fake crying -- in public. She tugged at female heartstrings and bullied men into voting for her by feeling sorry for her.  Hillary "found her voice" in a ridiculous, trembling, tremolo that will hurt her more in the future than it helped her last night.

There's evolution going on around you and it has nothing to do with genes or survival of the fittest -- no, this movement is about the rise of silicone and the fakery of pseudo-animatrons pretending to be people.

The FBI Wants Your Body

The FBI wants to collect your body as a loyalty test.

Barack Obama won Iowa last night -- one of the "Whitest" states in the union -- with a resounding and undeniable smashing of Hillary Clinton's "inevitable" campaign for the presidency of the United States.

Do you believe babies and children should be tossed into the internet ether for babysitting, entertaining and socializing?

Do you protect your good name and your credit from criminal elements?

Hooray for 2008 and I hope your year is joyous and not yet bloody
