Get Your GrandCentral Beta Invitation Here!

| | Comments (32)
I am currently in the keen Google GrandCentral beta.

If you live in the USA, and if you want an invitation to the beta, post a comment here and I'll send out invitations until I run out.

Here's some information on what GrandCentral does for managing your communication:

GrandCentral offers many features that complement the phone services you already use. If you have multiple phone numbers (e.g., home, work, cell), you get one phone number that you can set to ring all, some, or none of your phones, based on who's calling. This way, your phone number is tied to you, and not your location or job.

The service also gives you one central voice mailbox. You can listen to your voicemails online or from any phone, forward them to anybody, add the caller to your address book, block a caller as spam, and a lot more. You can even listen in on voicemail messages from your phone while they are being recorded, or switch a call from your cell phone to your desk phone and back again. All in all, you'll have a lot more control over your phones.
Take a look at these additional fine features:

GrandCentral is the communications wave of the future: One phone number to unite the rest of your life -- even if you change phone carriers or add new numbers for contact. If you have any questions, let me know!

Wow David!

Looks like an array of grand features!

Too bad I am not in USA now - :-(

David,

If GrandCentral were a food I would say it would make for an absolutely scrummy meal! I'd love something like that. :)

Hi Katha!

Yes, you must have a USA phone number of some sort to use the service right not, but if you want to check out the beta now and, perhaps, set it up upon your return, let me know!

Gordon --

Your invitation has been sent!

Let me know what you think of the service!

UPDATE:

I'm checking IP addresses to make sure they are not forged or coming from outside the USA.

UPDATE:

You also must follow all the terms of our Comments Policy to get invited:

Looking great thusfar. :) I'm looking forward to trying all the awesome features.

Gordon --

The things I am loving so far are the Call Screening feature and the ability to push future calls from unwanted callers into the Spam bin.

Oh, and choosing to ring your home phone or your cell phone is wondrous!

Did you get an NYC number?

I wouldn't have it any other way! Why get a Seattle number when (G-d willing) I will be back in New York in a matter of 6 months, I say.

I agree with you, Gordon! Smart move! Which area code did you pick?

UPDATE:

I removed the Contact Form as a request avenue because too many of those emails are coming up with faked IP addresses. I need to confirm you are in the USA or else it is a wasted invitation.

If you decide to register here, make sure you conform to our Comments Policy as previously mentioned.

Thanks.

646 seemed the only option but I love 646 because it's like 10 more than 3 times better than 212! :)

Gordon --

I used to be 212, 718, 646 and 917.

212 rocks, 718 was okay. No one understands 646. So this time I went with 917.

917 used to be reserved only for cellular phones and pagers until that was deemed illegal -- so now several businesses in Manhattan use 917 as their area code and that's why I went that way!

What couldn't there be to love by mixing Google and telecommunications? If you have another invite, I'd love to try!

David,

I'd love to get an invitation. I'm about to get a new cell phone for work, and I think that this would be great to get in case I need to switch jobs and lose this new number. I'm in area code 801 - you can check my IP to make sure I'm in the US. Thanks so much (in advance!)

I'd love an invitation as well. I just signed up for a Wordpress.com account, so I'm not sure that this will post my first and last name (as stipulated in the comment policies). However, my name is Jesse Jones, and I'll thank you in advance!

David, please send me an invitation as well.

TIA!
